B & J Cattle Co. started as a 4-H project nearly 50 years ago, and has since evolved into a primarily Simmental, Simm/Angus genetic program that we are very proud of.

     Over the last ten years, we have made dramatic changes within our cow calf program, to include some of the very best genetics that the Simmental breed has to offer, including a sister to Glamour, a daughter of Mindy, a full sister to Makin' Honey, and Honeydew, a sister to Reddy or Not, three outstanding Meyer 734 daughters, a 1/2 blood Lucky One daughter, a Trump daughter (second to none) and a Cigar daughter that all combined have given us a top set of Donor cows - And we haven't quit there, our bull battery, most all we raised, have sired many National Champions, besides being in the winners circle themselves.

     We emphasize productivity, longevity, (we can trace our Snoopy cow families back 50 years), soundness, "Clean Fronts", (these cattle really can perform with clean fronts), deep ribbed cattle, that are easy calving, and maintain the Simmental traits for maternal traits, growth, and the right kind of muscle. I can't emphasize enough that we like to "Look" at our cattle, and still know they are balanced in EPD numbers - just looking good on paper does not make the cut at B & J Cattle Co.

     SOMETHING NEW at B & J Cattle Co. - new sale name, new sale date, (starting July 1, through Sept. 15, 2008), new sale format, new logo, & no sale management.

For the 2008 fall sale, we have decided to offer your choice and pick of the herd for sale at private treaty! and also offer you the opportunity to purchase embryos from our elite set of donors, with a base bid of $100 per embryo, from a 200 embryo inventory bank.

We feel that reducing the overhead of sale management expenses, will make this offering a unique opportunity to take advantage of some of the absolute best Simmental genetics in the country, and not be pressured to meet certain deadlines. The weekend of September 12 offers 3 Indiana Sales in addition to the B & J "Fall Harvest", and we encourage all to attend as many sales as you can. We have no sale deadline times, so during your travels to the sales, be sure to take a break at B & J, and see some powerful Simmental Genetics.

Sale highlights - are full genetic sisters to "Dew Drop", full genetic sibs to "In Dew Time", and a powerful set of "Slim Jackson" daughters from the breeds best genetics. And the sale "Feature" is a Paddy O'Malley/ Cigar Maintainer daughter that is the best heifer ever born and raised at B & J Cattle Co.

We are also selling a dozen young productive cows bred to our Lucky Dice bull for February calves.
